Referencing these two articles: Invisible Children: Activating a Generation & Is Kony 2012 Actually Helping Ugandans
The first time I heard of Kony 2012, I was deeply moved and I thought that these people were doing such a good things. I thought that they were raising awareness and making a movement to make the world for the better. However, now that I read articles, I feel less inclined to be inspired. Even though this idea in itself was a good idea, the facts were wrong and the viewers were mislead. If this organization truly wanted to raise awareness and help these children in Uganda, they could at least provide us, the people they are trying to inspire, with the correct facts. They could have used the money they raised with the merchandise they sold directly towards helping the people, or at least getting the correct facts.
