Procedure
1. Fill one glass beaker with 150 mL of vinegar and carefully place two eggs in the vinegar. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
2. After 24 hours, cautiously remove the eggs from the beaker. Gently wash the egg with clean water. Dry it on a paper towel and observe the appearance of the egg. Record observations.
3. Place the egg on the digital scale for mass measurement and record data.
4. Pour out vinegar from glass beaker and rinse thoroughly. Dry with paper towel then fill with 150 mL of water.
5. Drop two drops of red food coloring into water and gently swish around the water until the food coloring has spread evenly. Record the volume.
6. Fill the other beaker with 150 mL of corn syrup. Record the volume.
7. Put egg 1 into beaker with colored water and egg 2 into beaker with corn syrup.
8. Label each beaker with tape.
9. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
10. After 24 hours, remove the eggs from the beaker and place on a paper towel.
11. Record observations of the appearance of the egg.
12. Measure the mass on the digital scale. Record data.
13. Pour out all the liquid from the beakers and rinse thoroughly. Dry with paper towel
14. Put eggs back in the beakers and pop with toothpick. Record the observations of the insides of the egg. (Eggs may squirt)
